Corrections desk
Rules change. Evidence improves. We correct the record.
If a finding is wrong, incomplete, outdated, or misses controlling authority, we want the primary evidence.
Report a correction
Email research@stateoffgrid.com with:
- The page URL and exact statement at issue.
- The jurisdiction and topic.
- A link or copy of the statute, rule, ordinance, official form, recorded document, or written agency clarification.
- The effective date and any reason the source may not apply generally.
- Your name and relationship to the issue, if you are comfortable providing it.
What happens next
We check the evidence against the scope of the published finding and, when necessary, seek clarification from the responsible authority. A material correction updates the answer, its check date, and the source trail. A disputed interpretation remains labeled unresolved until the evidence supports a conclusion.
Corrections and editorial updates
October 1, 2026 — building and installation focus
Made the build-planning sequence the starting point for readers ready to install systems. Added contractor coordination, inspection timing, commissioning and handover guidance, a project tracker and a handover worksheet. Expanded the water, solar and wastewater guides with installation and completion questions. The library now contains eight guides and seven downloads.
October 1, 2026 — practical home and land guides
Added seven practical guides covering land purchase, water supply, wastewater, solar, project costs, dwelling types and existing-home inspection. The guides include scoped official references, labeled worked examples, four CSV worksheets and a property-records request template. Added relevant reading paths to the homepage, research topics, plan builder and checklist.
The new guides distinguish illustrative calculations and editorial investigation advice from legal requirements and property evidence. This expansion does not represent a new review of every existing state finding; those findings retain their source-check dates.
September 27, 2026 — utilities, comparison and buyer guidance
Added a sourced utility investigation guide, including Phoenix sewer rules and Texas municipal sewer authority, and an Arizona–Texas worked comparison. Expanded the topic guidance and added power and temporary-occupancy sections to the buyer’s checklist. The checklist now distinguishes resolved questions from property approval.
Clarified the publication’s editorial byline and the meaning of source-check dates. Replaced outdated or indirect source addresses for Texas legislation and selected state agency resources. These link repairs do not imply a new review of every claim on the affected pages.
Original research pages were dated September 26, 2026. Individual findings retain their own source dates; a page’s editorial update date may be later.
